MACEDON. Akanthos. Circa 500-480 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 14 mm, 2.22 g). Forepart of a lioness to left, head seen from above; above, rosette. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square with granulated recesses. AMNG III, 14 var. (different symbol). BMC -. Roma May 2013 Auction, 308 (same obverse die). SNG ANS -. Very rare with the rosette symbol and the lioness to left. Well struck and of vigorous style. Tiny flan crack, otherwise, extremely fine.
